Gokul Nair

Gokul is a Mechanical Engineer (University of Cape Town), Biomedical Engineer (University of Cape Town), Inventor, Entrepreneur and Co-Founder. During his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, Gokul developed a number of technologies, including a reloadable adrenaline auto-injector (known as the ZiBiPen) as well as a novel drill guide test rig for patella femoral ligament surgery.

Outside of the work space, he loves to hike and take photographs (particularly landscapes). He is regarded as one of Cape Town’s most talented landscape photographers. He loves animals, especially dogs, and tries to spend as much time in nature as he possibly can. His idea of an ideal evening is spending time with friends or enjoying a really great book.

His inspiration behind Impulse is primarily motivated by his desire to see his technologies used by patients that need them and their frustration that research outputs rarely reach market.

Gokul lives by the motto that life is a journey, not a sprint. Take your time when you can and enjoy they view.
